Fixed 401.2 Unauthorized logon failed due to server configuration

Situations: 1. In the client workstations, you may receive "401 – Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials".

2. In the Web Server, you may receive "401.2 Unauthorized logon failed due to server configuration".

Resolution: Enable Forms Authentication. To do that, open IIS (in our example it is Windows 2008). Click the web site. Double-clcik on Authentication.
