Chicago Area Laptop for rent: $35 per day plus $10 for additional day
rental

Internet access stops after 10 minutes

Symptom: after connecting to the Internet through an ADSL modem about 10-20 minutes, you are unable to browse the Internet website with the error "Page cannot be displayed". If I've misunderstood
your concern, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Resolutions:

A. First, I suggest you contact the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to see if
they are able to be of assistance. You may ask them to give you an
alternative DNS server IP address, and then we can manually set the DNS
server in this problematic Windows XP computer.

To manually set the DSN server address, follow the steps below.

1. Open Control Panel > Network Connections.
2. Locate the appropriate connection, and then right click it > Properties.
3. Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
4. Select "Use the following DNS server addresses", and input the DNS
server IP address the ISP gives.

After that, please check if the issue will disappear.

B. If changing the DNS server can't help to resolve this issue, I suggest we
replace the Network Interface Card (NIC) to give a try.

Note: client replies: I have re-updated the NIC drivers with
an alternate version and (fingers crossed) everything appears to be okay
