Windows 2008 RRAS assigns 169.254 IP to the VPN client

Situation: The client is running Windows 2008 RRAS as VPN server. It has been working for a year. Recently, the VPN client can't access the inside computers.

Troubleshooting: 1. We found the VPN client was assigned IP 169.254.x.x. It should be assigned 10.0.x.x IP by LAN DHCP. We have checked the RRAS has correct settings to use DHCP.
2. The company has Cisco ASA as firewall block all IP access except 10.0.x.x that is why the VPN client can't access the LAN.
3. Resolution: restart the RRAS.
