Laptop can't VPN while desktop can

Q1: Hi all,
Just got a new laptop and have been trying to get my VPN connection to
my office working. My desktop connects just fine, but the laptop hangs
on "verifying username and password" then eventually gives me a 721
error. Both machines go through the same router, so I figured it
couldn't be the router config settings. I've sat both machines
side-by-side and compared each and every setting on the vpn connection
and there's not a single difference.

Any thoughts?

A: It could be the limitation of the router or you need to re-set the router. Try this: re-set the router and connect the VPN using the laptop first. Can you do it?

done that right off the bat. I must have gone through some of the most
obscure settings imaginable and never tried the simple reset. Thanks
