Re: IE Content blocks all web access From: Product: General Date: 21 Oct 2006 Time: 10:12:15 -0400 Comments: Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I didn't know there was something called a master browser. I did some experimenting as follows: On the WXP machine that could not browse, I turned off the browser service as suggested in one of your links. No change in problem. Next I rebooted that machine. No change in problem Then I went to the W2k machine and turned off its browser service. That fixed the problem with the WXP machine. Just to close the loop I went to the WXP that could all along browse and looked at its browser service. It was running, so I left it alone. My problem is solved, but it still leaves open the question why 1 of the WXP machines could browse while the other could not, even though they both were running the browser service. Meanwhile, I guess the W2k machine was the master browser, but couldn't handle both of the WXP machines. So it picked one, but not the other. Once a WXP became the master, it handled both of the other machines. Does any of this make sense? Thanks,

Hi, Please help me. I am very new to networking. I apologize if this is not the right group to post, but I do not know where to look for an answer and networking sounded kind of right. Any help/lead/clue you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I have a small office network: Windows server 2003, SP1; I think there is no ISA (I did not see anything called ISA on the Administrative Tools menu or at the Add/Remove Programs applet); 8 client PCs, and 8 user accounts. 3 of these users have VPN access. I implemented VPN with a Linksys RV-042. I use Windows XP VPN client to connect to the PPTP VPN function of the Linsys which supports up to 5 concurrent VPN sessions. My problem is that 1 of the 3 VPN users does not have access to the network resources when she logs in to the domain. However, when she logs to the local machine account, she can access all the resources on the LAN. The other 2 users are working ok. Any idea what could be causing the problem? Thanks in advance, Pablo.
