From: San-Diego Date: 11 Nov 2006 Time: 10:47:03 -0500 Remote: Name: Comments: We have an intranet server running several web-applications in addition to file services. The server has a static address, 192.168.1.10 We have a firewall with VPN passtrough that sends all VPN traffic to this machine. The server is set up with the standard XP VPN server with distributing IP address pool from 192.168.1.20-30 VPN works fine and users can log in. All services on the LAN work. The problem is that VPN users can not connect to the server using address 192.168.1.10, only by using the first of the addresses in the IP pool, 192.168.1.20. This causes all kinds of problems, ranging from bookmarks that does not work to URL's generated from the web-applications to be wrong for users in the intranet and so on. I have been searching for hours to find a solution to this strange behaviour, and I am asking if any of you know what to do. I have been thinking about setting up some sort of DNS, but I dont want to unnecessarily complicate things. Thank you in advance.
