Exchange 2007 Error: could not find a directory entry for the server

Symptom: When trying to remove the Exchange 2007, I receive Error: could not find a directory entry for the server.

Resolution: 1. Make sure you are the member of these groups.

• Local Administrator on the server
• Enterprise Administrator
• Domain Administrator
• Schema Administrator

2. Run regedit to delete all related exchange keys from Software\Microsoft and System\CurrentControlSet\Services in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

3. Rename or delete the Exchange server folder from the Program Files.
