Outlook prompts for the password - Resolution with screenshots

Situation: The client is running Exchange 2010. One of our users keeps receiving popup for the password.

Troubleshooting: 1. When we close the Outlook 2003 and restart it, it prompt for the password. However, it asks for login the Exchange server instead of the domain.

2. If we open the Outlook Connection Status (please refer to this page:

How to check Outlook Connection Status - HowToNetworking.com

)

It shows disconnected.

Resolution: 1. Have the user login domain instead of Exchange server (e.g. domain\username instead of exch-cas\username).

2. Make sure the computer has correct DNS settings.

3. Re-login the user to the domain.
