SCUP error occurred during import

Situation: When attempting to import partner software update catalog, you may receive this message: Error occurred during import.

Troubleshooting: check the log for the detail. In our case, it says C:\Users\usernamet\AppData\Local\Microsoft\System Center Updates Publisher 2011\5.00.1727.0000\scupdb.sdf was not found. However, if you navigate to C:\Users\usernamet\AppData\Local\Microsoft\System Center Updates Publisher 2011\5.00.1727.0000\, you do see the scupdb.sdf.

Cause: the user may not have right to go to the Internet to download the files.

Resolutions: 1. Login administrator account to import.

2. Right click on SCUP and select Run as administrator.

3. Follow this link to enable IE ESC.
