Solved: Issues with multihomed server

Postby chicagotech » Fri Feb 02, 2007 3:40 pm

Problems: the client just enabled RRAS in their windows 2003 server with two NICs.

1. No workstation receives IP from windows DHCP.
2. If assigning static IP to those workstations, they can ping each other but not server. The server can ping those static IP clients.

Troubleshooting: the client setup LAN NIC as public interface connected to the Internet while WAN NIC as private interface connected to the private network so that no client can ping the server. After changing the wan as public interface and LAN as private interface, all workstations can access the server.
