Pushing/Deploying new SCCM 2007 client is not working

Have set new sccm 2007 client to deploy after upgrade from 2003 to 2007, but SCCM's 'own' chaining does NOT appear to work, 'out of the box' - because all I did to chain the Hotfix to the client install was use SCCM's own "Browse" and/or "Choose Existing Package" options and chose the client install by making it a 'pre-req' to installation of the hotfix.

In one post, a person said he found something about the IIS directories' 'inheritance' not being set right, and that he set those to 'inherit from parent' and that seemed to fix his chaining issue.

Basically my particular situation, I actually used SCCM's own built-in interfaces to BROWSE directly to the related exe's and so forth. Trying to push the new client - which does NOT seems to always work, btw - over 90% of our workstations do NOT receive the push; i.e. 20 out of 400+ have received it - the rest just laugh and say "no way." I will repeat: there should NOT be SO freaking much 'troubleshooting' on a simple deployment of the new client to all XP workstations! This is RIDICULOUS! I basically packaged the new SCCM 2007 client, as recommended by Microsoft and these forums, but first I packaged the "Hotfix" (power management hotfix), but told Hotfix package to "Run this other package first" - the 'other' package is the one with the new client install.

So, how can it be "invalid executable file," when it is the exact ccmsetup that I use manually without a problem?

What it appears to be looking like is that maybe SCCM wants the 'full path' the sccm setup exe but, if that is the case, *SCCM* should put the path there, because I browsed to it properly, as I was supposed to! Makes no sense whatsoever. So, if anyone has a clue or knows for sure if 'full path' needs to be 'manually entered,' please let me know. Thanks!
