Postby blin » Thu Feb 16, 2017 4:24 pm

Situation: You backup Microsoft Hyper-V VHD or VHDX drive using Veeam. The backup is setup to do full back on Friday and increment on other days. Now, you need to restore to restore one of VHD drive backed up on Thursday. How do you do it?

1. Run Restore Wizard. Select Restore Type (VM flies in our example).

2. Select VM.

3. Select Restore Point. Note: if the Restore point is Increment, the restore will restore all increment backup and last full backup.

5. Click Finish to complete the restore Wizard.

Note: you may want to restore the VHD to a different location. Now, you dismount the activate VHD and re-add the restored VHD to the VM. Or you can add the restored VHD to a different VM. You don't need to turn the VM off.
