Outlook: That program is not installed on your computer

Situation: when tempting to open PDF from Outlook 2010, the user receives this message: The program used to create this object is Outlook. That program is not installed on your computer.

Troubleshooting: 1. Uninstall Windows update KB3203467 if it is Outlook 2010.
2. Uninstall Windows Update KB3191898 if it is Outlook 2007.
3. Or disable Adobe Reader protection. Here is how.

1) Click Insert > Object in the Text group. ...
2) Click Create from File > Browse.
3) Browse to the .pdf file you want to insert, and then click Open.
4) (Optional) In the Object dialog box, select Display as icon if you only want to display the PDF icon in your document. ...
5) Click OK.
