Postby chicagotech » Tue Jun 20, 2017 11:03 am

Microsoft doesn't recommends to install SQL Server on a domain controller and you cannot run SQL Server services on a domain controller under a local service account or a network service account. If you do want to install sql on a DC, you may recreate a new user account that will run the SQL services.

In our case, we created a account called sqlexpress. Then change the account from default network service account to sqlexpress when install/configure the sql server.
