Solved: Access denied

Postby chicagotech » Sat Feb 10, 2007 3:52 pm

Case 1: We just built a new Windows 2003 server and copy data from the old server to the new one. We can map the shared folder, but can't access. If trying to access, I receive access denied error.

Solution: We found the security Tab was assign users but under the Sharing tab there were any users listed.

Case 2: We created a shared folder on a new server and assigned permissions to all users and tested it. After we copied the data from one server to the new server. The users can read only but write. Why?

Solution: WE found the shared permission is set everyone read only and no other groups. It is possible the copy override the permission.
