Can't create vm for x64 windows WITH ERROR 3207

Postby guest » Wed May 20, 2009 10:13 am

When i try to run physical to virtual (P2V) from a Physical
Windows 2003 64 bit to a virtual i recive the folowing error

"
error (3207)
Cannot create a virtual machine for the x64 windows operating system

Recomended Action:
The selected macine xxx.xxx.xxx cannot be virtualized. Virtual server only
suports 32 bit operating systems
"

The strange thing is that VMM said that i need virtual Server 2005 r2 SP1 to
convert p2v

From the error message, it appears the selected host to store the converted
virtual machine is not Hyper-V, but Virtual server. Is that true?

Virtual server cannot store 64-bits OS virtual machine. Therefore I would
recommend to select Hyper-V, not virtual server as host machine to store
this converted virtual machine.
