CRM E-Mail Router error: (401) Unauthorized

Situation: when test access in CRM E-mail router, you may receive this message: "Incoming Status: Failure - The remote Microsoft Exchange e-mail server returned the error "(401) Unauthorized". Verify that you have permission to connect to the mailbox. The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized".

Case 1: Make sure the specified user in CRM e-mail router has full rights to access the all CRM users objects. Please refer to this article for assign Exchange Full Administrator Role: How to assign Exchange Full Administrator role to a user - http://www.howtonetworking.com/email/exchange3.htm.

Case 2: Make sure you have setup correct Configuration profile. In our case, it was setup https://exchangeservername. We fixed it by change to http://exchangeservername and in the IIS Directory Security settings, uncheck Request security channel (SSL) on both exchange and exchadmin.
