CRM e-mail server returned the error "(404) Not Found"

Situation: when testing CRM email access, you may receive this message: "Incoming Status: Failure - The remote Microsoft Exchange e-mail server returned the error "(404) Not Found". This user or queue does not have a mailbox. Create a mailbox and try again. The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found".

Case 1: The email address in the CRM is username@domainname.local but the real email is username@domainname.com.

Case 2: The CRM email address doesn't match the Exchange email address. The CRM email address is username@domainname.com while the Exchange email address is user.name@domainname.com.

Case 3: The email address has been disabled in the Active Directory.
