Your remote desktop session has ended

Postby blin » Wed Nov 14, 2012 11:04 pm

How to completely repair or reset Remote Desktop Service in Windows 2003 Ent? We have done everything to fix it for example changing its port number etc but it is giving the attached error "Your remote desktop session has ended" whenever we try to connect. It accepts the connection when we telnet to port 3389.

Any Suggestions?

Do you also receive the Event ID 1100 on the Event Viewer? Try to uncheck Printers under RDC Local resources for a test. Or modify the RDPDR registry subkey by following this post:

Have you tried deleting and then recreating the RDP-Tcp listener? You may do this in Terminal Services Configuration (tscc.msc). After recreating the listener you will need to redo any previous changes you may have made to the Properties.

I have just found that there is no RDPDR entry under root registry. I exported this key from another server and tried to import but got a message that "Cannot import RDPDR.reg: Error accessing the Registry".
