Can't see neither L2TP nor PPTP miniports

Postby chicagotech » Fri Oct 19, 2007 11:34 am

Thanks. Actually, I did it this way:

- open cmd

uninstall miniports
>netcfg -u ms_l2tp
>netcfg -u ms_pptp

install them again (order may not be important)
>netcfg -l %windir%\inf\netrast.inf -c p -i ms_pptp
>netcfg -l %windir%\inf\netrast.inf -c p -i ms_l2tp

I think it's a tad easier as it doesn't require any downloads.

Or VPN WAN miniport is corrupted even you can see it.

To resolve this issue, uninstall and reinstall the miniports manually. To do so, follow the steps below:

1. Click Start>All Programs>Accessories and click "Command Prompt".

2. In the Command prompt, type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each one.

Netcfg -u MS_L2TP
Netcfg -u MS_PPTP
Netcfg -l %windir%\inf\netrast.inf -c p -i MS_PPTP
Netcfg -l %windir%\inf\netrast.inf -c p -i MS_L2TP
