A safe way to use a computer

1)Create a regular user account and login it instead of administrator account for daily use. In many cases, a virus and spam software needs administrator right to install them. In a case you need to install software, you can Run as administrator without re-login administrator account to install software. Another advantage of using regular user is you can delete the user profile whenever the computer gets virus or spam and your administrator profile is clean in most cases.

2) I am using Virtual Machine (VM) in the office and at home。The advantages of Using VM are it is easy to backup because it is only one file for whole OS and you just copy it to different location. And you can easy to rebuild it. To create a VM, you can download free Virtual PC form Microsoft. By my understand, if you have Windows 7, you are allowed to install XP on it and license should not be an issue. Or you can use an old but not active machine’s license.
