Windows 7: enabling/disabling programs in StartUp menu

Postby guest » Sun Jun 24, 2012 9:23 pm

Tonight, I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows Vista Home Premium.

One of the features that I found very useful in Vista was a section that listed all of the various programs that were running automatically upon start-up, along with options to either enable or disable them from running on start-up.

I cannot find this feature anywhere in Windows 7 Home Premium. Can someone enlighten me, please? Thanks!!

type MSCONFIG in startmenu search bar hit enter, allow if UAC pop up
on a new window go t startup tab, select which programs to run on start up , UN check if you don not want to run at start up
click ok restart when prompted.

or you can use other software like TUNE up utility or CCleaner to do so..

The startup programs can be configured via System Configuration Tool. To do this, please perform the steps below:

1. Click the Start Button type "msconfig" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.

Note: If prompted, please click Continue on the User Account Control (UAC) window.

2. Click the "Startup" tab.

You can find the enabled startup programs here.
