Situation: Windows 8 as VM running on Windows 2012 hyper-V can't access Windows 7 computer at home, but other computers can. Why:

Troubleshooting: Net view \\win7hostname gives this system error:
System error 1707 has occurred

The network address is invalid

Windows 8 VM IP configuration is is incorrect. Re-configuration fixes the problem. Please refer to this post:
