Recover data in a server connecting to iSCSI drive

Postby chicagotech » Mon May 15, 2017 10:35 pm

Situation: The client has a file server running windows 2012 R2 mapping to iSCSI drive with all data in it. It crashed. Need us to recovery the data.

Resolution: Since the data is in the iSCSI drive, we may have two options.
1. We can restore the OS and re-attach the mapping data drive.
2. If we don't have good backup, we can re-build a new server and re-attach the data drive.
