csvde doesn't export the Remote Desktop Services Profiles

Postby chicagotech » Tue May 30, 2017 2:27 pm

We are running Windows 2008 R2 as Domain Controller and plan to modify our user profile path using csvde command. When exporting user data from Active Directory Domain Services using this command csvde -m -f c:\TS_Group.cvs , I don't see all users information such as the profile path of Remote Desktop Service Profile. Why?

the “csvde” command can export the profile path of User profile, but it cannot be used to export the profile path of the Remote Desktop Service Profile.

However, you should be able to export the Remote Desktop Services Profiles with a script referring to the following link:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Fo ... inserverTS

If you want to modify the path, you should be able to do it by GPO or using a script. The following describes the steps to modify profile path via GPO:

•Open the Group Policy console on the server

•Navigate to: Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Profiles

•Use “Settings for User Home Directory” to set the local path.

•Use “Settings for Roaming User Profile” to set the profile path.

The following link contains a script from Script Center. The script is designed to select profile paths which contain “server2” and modify it from“\\Server2\<username>” to “\\Server3\<username>”.
