Postby chicagotech » Tue Nov 14, 2017 3:15 pm

Situation: When the client tries to move a VM from Windows Hyper-V to another Hyper-V, he receive this message: The virtual machine cannot be moved to the destination computer. The hardware on the destination computer is not compatible with the hardware requirements of this virtual machine.+

Troubleshooting:
1. shut down the virtual machine and turn on the processor compatibility setting.
2. From Hyper-V Manager, in the Virtual Machines pane, right-click the virtual machine and click Settings.
3. In the navigation pane, expand Processors and click Compatibility.
4. Check Migrate to a computer with a different processor version.
5.Click OK.

To use Windows PowerShell, use the Set-VMProcessor cmdlet:

PS C:\> Set-VMProcessor TestVM -CompatibilityForMigrationEnabled $true
