Can’t read from the source file or disk

Postby blin » Tue Jun 21, 2016 9:38 am

Situation: when attempting to copy a file to external drive, you may receive this message: Can’t read from the source file or disk.

Troubleshooting: 1. It may have some bad sectors. Run chkdsk /f to fix them. Or You could also do a SCANDISK on the card using your computer

2. File Size Limits: A FAT16 formatted drive can only support up to a 2GB file. FAT32 can only hold up to a 4GB file.

3. Bad connection: re-plug the cable.

4. It could be that the file name is something that Windows does not recognize and therefore gives you an error, for example the filename ended with a dot, "Agreement."
