Do I lose permissions when re-attaching a drive

Postby chicagotech » Mon May 15, 2017 10:28 pm

Q: We have SAN drive attaching to a Windows 2012 R2 file server using iSCSI. The server has a problem and we want to re-attach the iSCSI drive to different server. Would we lose the permissions on the iSCSI drive?

A: It will keep the NTFS permissions, but you will lose the sharing permissions.
