3560 SW crashed--inline power controller test failed

Postby guest » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:52 pm

This Saturday i have seen my first cisco switch crash [or at least this is the way that appears to me ]. it's 3560 model 48 ports 10/100 + 4 SFP PoE .

to be honest with you i have no clue why it does not work any more...initially i thought that it was a power failure on the local power grid...a spike or something..

the idee is: i really need this switch to make it work..therefore i paste here the errors from the momment it reboots

Something that isn't largely known...

ALL of the fixed configuration switches (3560 included) have a lifetime warranty. Just call TAC.

You will not be getting a next-day replacement... it may take a week or so to get to you (if you had smartnet, it'd be faster!) but it's still a free replacement.

The switch is failing in its Power On Self Test.

This indicates a hardware failure.

I would suggest contacting Cisco TAC and request a RMA.

Do a "show tech-support" and provide the output when you raise the issue with the TAC.
