Do I change IP address when re-connect upgraded ASA

Postby blin » Thu Oct 30, 2014 10:44 am

Q: As Can't access ASA after upgrading - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18434 descripts that upgrading standalone ASA will change the IP address to Active IP address. When I re-connect the standby ASA back to the system, do I need to change the IP address back to 10.0.0.3?

A: No, you don't. The failover configuration will re-set IP address when they sync. However, you must plug failover cable first and this is only cable you will connect it first. Please refer to this post: How do I re-connect upgraded ASA back to Failover - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18437
