How do I re-connect upgraded ASA back to Failover

Postby blin » Thu Oct 30, 2014 10:47 am

Q: We have failover Cisco ASA. Since upgrading ASA version from 8.2 to 8.4 is major update, we need to upgrade it as standalone device. How do I re-connect the upgraded ASA back to the system? Do I re-plug all cables or only plug failover cable?

A: The correct way to do is plug the failover cable first and make sure both ASA sync and failover status OK. Then re-plug all other cables.
