Initial connection and configuration of Cisco AP 1231

1. Connect the power code to the Aironet Power Injector.
2. One Ethernet cable connects between the switch and the Power Injector.
3. One Ethernet cable connects between the Power Injector and AP.
4. By default, the DHCP should assign an IP address to the AP.
5. You may have may ways to find the IP address. 1) from the DHCP server, you may see a new name like ap.chicagotech.net. 2) You can access the AP using console port, and type show interface. The BVI will display the IP address is assigned to the AP. Or use tshow dhcp lease command. 3) You may check your DNS records.
6. You can access the AP using http and telnet. The Default username is cisco and the password is Cisco.
7. Now you can configure the AP or restore a pre-configure file.

We have a case, show interface and show DHCP lease don't show the IP address. The DHCP doesn't list the AP. The problem is the client connect the AP to different VLAN port and can't talk to DHCP.
