Can't configure dot1x on Cisco 3500XL

Situation:
Can’t configure dot1x system-auth-control

I didn't find any documentation stating that 3500XLs support dot1x even in Release Notes of latest release as you can see below:

The reason this feature was never included in the 3500XL and 2900XL series switches is that they were already end of life about the time the feature was introduced into the Catalyst switching products. There were never plans for supporting this feature on the 3548XL series switches.
