Host Server Name and Computer name do not match

Postby chicagotech » Wed Apr 19, 2017 10:46 am

Situation: when attempt to import RADB.dmp file from oracle11G into a new Oracle server using DBUtil, we receive this message: "Host Server Name and Computer name do not match".

Troubleshooting: 1. If the database server trying to import from a network drive, you may receive this message. It’s best to import from a local drive on the same database server.

2. Make sure the default Oracle sysadm password was changed.

3. Check DBUtil.log, which is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Relius\AdminDB. We will review and advise. If you see this message:
The log shows one consistency: Error calling sqlplus.exe to connect to database.

I suggest you delete the entry and re-create it. Looks to me like the passwords are off. Within DBUtil, click the database in the grid, then click File | Delete. When it’s gone, click File | New and enter your credentials. Then try your import again.

4. In our case, it is DBUtil requires TNSListner services. When I started the service, it started importing db dump data.
