Fixed Windows 8 - no wi-fi by installing win 7 latest driver

Postby guest » Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:02 pm

I have just installed Windows 8 professional and i met with a big problem - my wi-fi in not working.
When i open my network tab, i can see only connections via cable, but no wi-fi.

I have Acer Aspire V3 771G. On windows 7, there were no problems with this.
MAYBE the problem could be, that MAYBE I have my wi-fi turned off. In windows 7 I could turn it off/on with FunctionKey+F3, but when i push that key now in W8, nothing happens. I have already tried installing some drivers too, but nothing works :/

Please, do you have any ideas?
I am desperate, OS without wifi is very useless, and if this wont solve, i will have to install windows 7 again :/

Can you see the wifi device in Device Manager? If yes, try to install the latest driver.

I had similar problems after installing Windows 8 even thought it seemed to install the correct drivers for my WiFi card.

My resolution was to download the latest Windows 7 Drivers from the manufacturers homepage and then install them under compatibility mode.

Everything worked perfectly after this.
