Wireless doesn't work because of DNS

Postby blin » Thu Nov 12, 2015 8:30 pm

Situation: The client just setup Comcast Internet service, some wifi laptops don't work. They can access the LAN resource but can't access the Internet.

Troubleshooting: 1. Ping 4.2.2.2 works fine.
2. ipconfig /all shows it is using Comcast 75.75.75.75 as DNS.

Resolution: Login Comcast modem (using cusadmin/highspeed) to changing the DNS to 192.168.0.1 (local modem default gateway) and 75.75.75.75. That fixes the problem.
