Change the directory using Mac commands

pwd to check the current directory and cd to change it, for example.
Client5:~ ladmin$ pwd
/Users/ladmin
Client5:~ ladmin$ cd library
Client5:library ladmin$Client5:library ladmin$ pwd
/Users/ladmin/library
Client5:library ladmin$Client5:library ladmin$ cd ~/documents
Client5:documents ladmin$ cd /library
Client5:library ladmin$
