Vista won't let me copy all the files from my old hard drive

Postby Taha » Sat Sep 26, 2009 1:02 pm

Hey all
i really need help on this one
i've tried every single solution proposed and none worked
so here is where the story begins
my old laptop decided to rest in peace and i salvaged the hard drive. it operated with xp
any way after getting my new HO DV7 with the bloody Vista i wanted to copy data from the old drive
the funny thing is that it let me copy my musical archives and other files like program packages and other things
but when it came to images it didn't copy all the images especially the ones in hidden files (Dnt ask why they were in hidden files)
and when i wanted to copy the files from the old users folders here comes the pain
after claiming the ownership of every single file folder or scrap..i still couldn't get a single file out...
pictures, mp3s...anything
so guys i need ur help
my bloody graduation thesis is there and its due bloody soon...so what can i do..

Beside taking over the ownership, you also need to assign full permissions and apply these permissions to all subfolders and files.
