Two-Way VPN Using One-Way Connection?

Postby Ghazi » Wed Dec 20, 2006 12:51 am

I have 2 Win2003 servers connected to the internet (Server1 & Server2), each server is connected to a LAN (LAN1 & LAN2), I want to connect both LANs together using one-way VPN connection (Server1 established VPN connection to Server2, LAN1 computers can see LAN2 computers and LAN2 computers can see LAN1 computers). Is this possible without using two-way VPN (Server2 does NOT establish VPN connection to Server1)? I'm using Routing and Remote Access for Win2003.

It is better to setup Windows site to site VPN. If for some reasons you don't want to do that, you need to enable IP routing or RRAS in the VPN client. Also make sure all computers point to the windows server for route.

Thank you chicagotech...
Do you mean computers in LAN1 should use Server1 as thair Default Gateway?

Yes, since you have server2 as VPN server and server1 as VPN client. All computers in the LAN1 need to pass through the server1 to the LAN2. Good luck and post back with the result.
