Broadband Router

Postby chironti » Wed Mar 24, 2010 4:46 am

Can't connect to internet while using Linksys WRT54G2 wireless router.? Right now I am currently connected to the internet by connecting the PC to the modem. When I connect the PC to the router and the router to the modem, I'm able to go to the router's page but not browse the web. Also, I get 4 green lights, the one that shows the computer [ 1 ] the wireless one, the one that shows a globe type thing, and the power light.

find the option to clone your PC's mac address with the router. Either that or shut the modem off for at least a minute (as well as the router) then power the modem on first and let it full train up (so the lights appear normal) then power on the router. Many modems I have come across will store a devices mac address and cause hassles when a new device is introduced. Be sure you are set to obtain an IP address automatically & DNS address automatically as well unless you know what you should be putting in there.
Also, do you have a PPPoE or DHCP connection? If PPPoE I have additional advice I will post.
