Example of configuring VLAN

Example 1: Assume you want to configure a port for access one VLAN 254, do these commands.

switchport access vlan 254
switchport mode access

Example 2: If you want to configure a prot for multiple VLAN, use these commands:

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,200,800,900
switchport mode trunk

Note: the network device must be able to do dot1q or has an option to configure VLAN.
