Can't map network drives over VPN

Postby chicagotech » Thu Oct 30, 2008 5:01 pm

Situation: We have many users use VPN to access our domain network. Once for a while we receive a call for mapping network drives problem.

Case 1: If the user logon using domain credentials, they are fine. If they logon local computer, they may not be able to access the mapping drive. Resolution is logon using domain user name.

Case 2: When a user logs on local computer and tries map the network drives, the logon screen keeps prompt for re-type username and password, and it changes the username to computername\username. What they should do is using this format to logon: domainname\username.
