I chaged usernames to co-incide on the 2 systems and used the same password
on both. That seems to have resolved my problem.

Make sure password protected sharing is off. On Vista PC go to Start>Network>Network and Sharing Center and check all the entries under the Sharing and Discovery heading.

For more information on these settings, go to Start>Help and Support and in the search box type "sharing files with the public folder" then click on the result item with that same name (should be result #1).
