Booting with the blue screen of death

Postby chicagotech » Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:58 am

Q: We have a Windows 2003 Standard Edition that has been running. All of
sudden, the server does not boot up. When the server boots up, it boots up
to the blue screen of death. Is there a way to boot up the server without
reinstalling the operating system? Thanks.

A: BSOD can be caused by device drivers, faulty memory, a corrupt Registry, or incompatible DLLs
1. Have you tried Safe Modeor or last known good?
2. Did you added a hardware recently? If yes, removed it.
3. Do a CHKDSK C: /R
