Vista credentials problem !

Postby itai » Wed Aug 15, 2007 11:24 am

I have a Dual boot System [Xp&vista ultimate] on my work pc , both of them are part of a domain .
now , we have a snap in , or should i say a network share that we can log on to .
when i log on with my credentials in xp , there is no problem .
but with my vista i'm getting this message : "Logon unsuccessful: windows is unable to log you on.
be sure that your user name and password are correct."
i'm 100% sure that my credentials are fine !
cause with my xp there is no problem .

this problem of credentials happens with more then one share on the network.

the funny thing is that this snap in that i'm trying to reach has a Web Console - and to that web console i can reach with the same credentials.

hope you'll understand what i'm saying.... TNX for the upcoming help.

Are all computers have this issue or only Vista?

all computers can log on to this snap-in[share] with no problem.
but computers that runs vista can't log on .
maybe it's a secuirty problem ?!
but the meassge doe'snt make any sense .

if you didnt understand , let me try again .

PC 1 [192.168.0.30] running xp
PC 2 [192.168.0.40] running vista

PC 3 [192.168.0.50] Network share

to get into "PC3" you nees spesific user name + passwoed . : let's say
username : Admin
Password : Admin

from an XP pc on the domain there is no problem.
but vista wont get in the share with the same credentials.

this is not the first time i had this problem
in my home pc i have a storage that linked into the router and my vista operating system cant log to it with restriction's on it .
but when i disable the credentials i can get in .

hope you understand . (:

Did you by chance use the same machinename when your installed Vista?
The Vista name has to be different than that used for your XP OS instance.
