I have been continually frustrated by an annoying "Unidentified network" that keeps appearing. After exhaustive searching for this issue. I have discovered that disabling IPv6 has resolved the problem. It seems that either my NIC or routers don't support the protocol. Unfortunately, there is very little information on IPv6 in the user domain and it is enabled by default in Vista!
