Vista: local only with 0.0.0.0 default gateway

Situation: A Vista computer can't access the Internet. It shows "local only" with 0.0.0.0 default gateway.

Resolutions: 1. Disable IPv6. Check this link.

Vista: unidentified network
As said this is the router/modem/NIC incompatible with the Vista. When the computer turn on IPv6 can't receive the default gateway which is 0.0.0.0 so that ...

2. Check any new firmware for the router or a new driver for the NIC.


3. You may want to clean the routing table. To do that, use "route print" command to check if the Default Gateway is 0.0.0.0. I fyes, do this command: "route delete 0.0.0.0". Restart your computer.

There are two default gateways that is the issue.
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0
10.103.35.1
Delete the gateway 0.0.0.0. This search result may help. Please post back with the result.
Vista Gateway is 0.0.0.0
