Vista slow performance in network

Postby guest » Tue Nov 06, 2007 11:50 am

Q: we have a new Windows 2003+SP2x64 installation and any Vista Clients have
very Slow Network Performance to this Server.
From any other clients (XP) is the network Speed ok. IS there any
restriction or Bug in this Scenario??

A: this
issue occurs to Windows Vista clients because Auto-tuning/Receive Side
Scaling is enabled on Vista clients. We can disable them to resolve this
issue.

For your reference, I have listed the steps and links here:

Disable Auto-tuning/RSS on Windows Vista:
======
1. On Windows Vista, go to C:\windows\system32,
2. Right click CMD.exe and click Run as Administrator
3. Type these commands and press Enter:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled

4. Please reboot Vista and check if it is working now.
