Fixing Vista local only by removing IPv6

Postby chicagotech » Mon Dec 24, 2007 10:37 pm

I was in a hotel yerstady. My XP can access the Internet using hotel wireless or wired without any problems. Howerver, Vista laptop can't access the Internet with the wireless or wired. It displays Local Only.

I have disabled the IPv6, installed Microsoft update, upgraded the NIC driver and I don't have 3dr party security software running on my Vista.

Finally, I fixed this issue by removing IPv6 using regedit. This is how to.
