Will transition to Exchange 2007 affect the mobile device

Postby guest » Fri Jan 25, 2008 2:21 pm

Situation: you are trying to migrate from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 and you may want to know what needs to be done for the Mobile ActiveSync users.

According to my experience, if the Exchange 2007 server is Exchange 2007
SP1, we do not need to do anything manually. Exchange 2007 SP1 will
automatically update the Mobile Sync state.

While, if the Exchange 2007 server is not Exchange 2007 SP1, according to
my experience, an error may be received when trying to ActiveSync after
migration. This is caused by the Sync state for the mobile device stored in
the user's mailbox. After moving the mailbox to Exchange 2007, the Sync
state in the user's mailbox was not upgraded and it was still the Exchange
2003 information. In this situation, we can delete and recreate the
ActiveSync partnership on the mobile to resolve it.
